The goal to celebrate this day is to eliminate the violence against women and girls all around the world especially students and youth in Pakistan. It is celebrated every year with different themes and different kinds of activities. As now a day, this is a critical situation that 8 out of 10 girls or women are facing this problem of violent behavior, harassment & abuse. There are many forms of violence like; domestic violence, sexual violence, psychological or emotional violence or harassment. These all kinds of violence ultimately affect the health of the victim and may even cause death. By the WHO survey, about 38% of murders of women are due to their intimate partners/ domestic violence. In these cases, not only the women i.e. victim suffers but also their children and families. It may lead to emotional and social problems to victim’s family specially their children which badly effects on mental and physical health of victims and surrounding people. The main problem is there is no reason for this violent behavior and even no cure for this. Mental health is deeply effected and it needs to be tackled as soon as possible to primote healthy mental and physical health of victims and people around them. We have to eliminate this violence by coordination, team work and by raising our voice against this for the mental and physical wellbeing of our society and people.
Goals to celebrate that day:
To eradicate the violence against women. Second goal to celebrate this day is to raise awareness in women and girls all around the world that how to prevent yourself from this violence and how it is deeply effecting physical and mental health. Another goal is to support the victim so that they can move on in lives with healthy mental and physical health.
